Biography

Terri L. Smith is a visual artist, photographer, and currently a candidate for a B.F.A in photography at Winthrop University. Born in Camp Hill, Penn., Terri grew up in Lewisberry, Penn. After graduating from Red Land High School, Terri moved with her family to Catawba, S.C. where she enrolled at York Technical College and soon transferred to Winthrop University. During her time at Winthrop she has worked as an assistant to local photographers in the Charlotte region. Her works focus on portraiture and upon graduating in spring 2014, Terri will continue working as a professional photographer in the Charlotte community. She plans to own a studio and create inspiring works.

Artist Statement

I am a visual artist who specializes in photography, primarily portraiture that is crisp and elegant. In the directness of my photographs is a natural beauty inspired by people’s facial expressions, an insight into their personality. I shoot digitally but occasionally enjoy shooting with film. I am a multifaceted artist who caters to different photographic concepts and styles.
