Biography

Julie Hydrick was born in Lexington, S.C. She enjoys spending time traveling and camping in the mountains. In her final year at Winthrop University, Julie is a candidate for the B.F.A. with a concentration in commercial photography and ceramics. Her work emerges from experiences with her father through outdoor activities and travel. After graduation she plans to move to the mountains. 

Artist Statement

I work in high fire super white porcelain, creating both sculptural and functional ceramics. My work pairs contemporary form with classical Asian imagery. I work in a serial format, creating multiple pieces that exist and interact in the installation setting.
