Artist Statement

I am interested in creating oil portraiture and exploring the juxtaposition of figures realistically and graphically.  Areas of each painting require a great amount of time and accuracy. An empathetic person, I am constantly striving to depict how I interpret the emotions of my subjects, which include self-portraits or people that I know. I am fascinated by their emotional states and I strive to depict that in my work.
