"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
-Pablo Picasso

Simply stated, my teaching philosophy is that I believe everyone - with the right resources and encouragement - is capable of becoming their best selves.  The engineering world continues to recognize that it is starved of innovative and creative people who are able to communicate their solutions to a wider public.  My belief is that the majority of entering engineering students are fully capable of becoming these engineers - all they need are the teachers, resources, and exposure to opportunities that can inspire them to become these engineering innovators.  Since individual students' skills and interests are all unique, it is vital to keep the educational environment flexible, inclusive, and accommodating.  Instead of molding students to be like the engineers of today, we should inspire students to become the great innovators of tomorrow.
