BUDD

As every city around the world, even BUDD has its landmarks. 
If the original idea of a landmark is massive, concrete, visible, static and blocked in a specific position. On the contrary,  the BUDD's landmarks are theoretical, fluctuate, eclectic.
The 'institutional' images of Lefebvre, Foucault, Agamben and Ranciere, represent not only the landmarks of an entire department (DPU) but also the theoretical grounding of the most practical approach. Theirs thoughts are crucial in the development field in order to understand the relation between space, power, roles, knowledge, rights, borders, equality.


 

BUDD scenario _ theories as LANDMARKS

"Landmarks are another type of a point-reference, but in this case the observer does not enter within them, they are external. Their use involves the singling out of one element from a host of possibilities. Some landmarks are distant ones, typically seen from many angles and distances, over the tops of smaller elements and used as radial references."

Landmarks are majestic figures that drive thoughts, theories, and often practice.

They are the main ingredients of theoretical frameworks and can lead to strategic urban analysis and interventions.
