The University of Ottawa Society for Women’s Empowerment (UOSWE) is a student run organization that firmly believes in the power of women and the ways in which women can work together in empowering themselves.

UOSWE founded in 2011 is a student organization on campus that focuses on leading a discussion on campus as well as raising awareness the various ways in which women can work towards empowering themselves and their community. UOSWE organizes speaker’s events around political, social, cultural, and economic aspects of women to increase awareness and learning on campus. Additionally, UOSWE also organizes fundraiser events and campaigns that aims to reach the goals of the differing organizations in which UOSWE supports.

UOSWE is thus dedicated to working towards empowering women at home and abroad through awareness campaigns and fundraising for women’s initiatives.

We realize the exclusive and limitations of gender categories and that within the definition of women (for the purpose of this student organization) it includes all persons that identifies as women. To contact UOSWE, email: exec.uoswe@gmail.com
