Places to eat

Thirsty Scarecrow (along the R44)

They make awesome pizzas,have delicious craft beers and a beautiful view of the mountains.

Manou'she (Andringa Street, Stellenbosch)

This is a lovely Lebanese restaurant in the middle of Stellenbosch, very nice vibe and the food is very unique (everything is really filling).

Places to Visit

One of our favorite places to visit is the Crocodile farm between Stellenbosch and Paarl and it's great to make a day of it by visiting Fairview (for a cheese hangover) and the Spice Route next door for absolutely everything from chocolate to grappa.

Another great place to visit is Kalk bay....my happy place. Lovely little town to wander around,look at the quirky shops and enjoy lunch right next to the sea.This is close to Boulders beach where you can visit the penguins and Cape Point is just a little further along.

WINE WINE WINE

JC le Roux is the perfect spot to stop for celebrating . They known for their sparking wines/MCC and do a whole lot of different pairings.

Muratie has lots of character and a really lovely tasting experience.

Somerbosch we discovered they do a really awesome wine ice cream that you can try with your glass of wine - it's almost better than wine in a glass. You have to book though 021 855 3615.

Spier has always been a very touristy place to stop but if you are looking for a place to go and have a picnic it's perfect and not to far out of town. They have a lovely deli that you can buy all sorts of yummy goodies and enjoy under the trees - They even rent picnic blankets if you don't have one.
