Artifact #1: The jean suit

 

Justin Timberlake is remembered by many things, one of them being this suit. He wore it to the American Music Awards in 2001 with Britney Spears, his girlfriend at the time, wearing a matching dress. Designer Rachel Zoe told interviewers that they had their outfits custom made, making sure every detail was denim. Timberlake was criticized heavily for wearing this outfit to such a pristine event. It is still recognized as a benchmark in his changing fashion sense and is used to summarize the styles of celebrities in the early 2000s.

Artifact #2; N'Sync rolling Stones cover

 

In this article, N’Sync is praised for their success in setting records and stepping out of the shadow of the Backstreet Boys. Toure opens this article by describing how all of the band members are all normal guys who don’t let their fame phase ho they truly are. Within this article, it depicts the love Justin experienced within his relationship with Britney Spears. The author describes how their love is real, as Timberlake’s band mate, Lance Bass, states that their relationship “gives love hope.” Toure describes N’Sync as “musically diverse.” This diversity followed Justin onto his solo career, as he continues to experiment with different elements today.

Artifact #3; cup o' soup costume

 

On December 22, 2008, Justin Timberlake appeared on Saturday Night Live as the host and musical guest. This episode, in the 32nd season of the show, showed a side of Timberlake unheard of by the press, his humor. As the show went on, the audience was in tears from laughing so hard watching Timberlake collaborate with cast members like Jimmy Fallon, Andy Samburg, and Will Forte. In this particular sketch, called Homelessville, Will Forte is dressed as a Santa ringing a bell to raise money for charity for the Salvation Army when Timberlake comes and raises money for a charity called Homelessville through his impressive dance moves. This cause conflict and competition between both parties to raise more money during the Christmas season. 

Artifact #4: Jt's Signed guitar 

 

In Justin Timberlake’s album, The 20/20 Experience, there are many instances of powerful guitar solos and passionate piano excerpts. What the audience does not know is that Justin is behind those instruments. Many music theaters and arenas have been shaken through the usage of this guitar, whcih he played during his tour in 2012-2013, The 20/20 Experience. He played this guitar when he performed the song, Drink You Away, and also during his tributes to Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson (Timberlake's inspirations) during this tourTimberlake generously donated this guitar in 2015.

Artifact #5: The 20/20 Experience 

 

The 20/20 Experience was the best-selling album of 2013 and the fastest-selling album in iTunes history for a record's opening week, selling over 580,000 digital copies online worldwide. This album beat his others by a landslide in regards to first week sales. Timberlake decided to create this album after a 7-yaer break from the music business, where he gained a new perspective of love and brainstormed on how he could change the genre of pop. He gave listeners a preview of what they could expect by performing singles, such as “Suit and Tie” and “Mirrors,” a year before the release date. The album’s success lead Timberlake into combining his other ideas in a second album, The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2.
