"Recent Work by M. Bryan": December 2015

Opening reception December 4th, 2015

BaxSPACE at Max Blooms Art Gallery is proud to present the expressive and provocative work of M. Bryan in her debut show at Max Bloom's Art Gallery. This will be her 2nd year anniversary of her first art showing with curator Stephan (Bax) Baxter.

M. Bryan's art evokes the feeling of being intimately involved in a moment in time that needs to bear more than one witness. At this exhibit M. Bryan's art will have work that celebrates the female form, as well as contrasting pieces that illuminate issues of contemporary social justice.

M. Bryan's mixed media art captures glimpses of time which feel like her subjects' breath is caught in their chest. As though walking down the street and catching a stranger's eye, the focus of her work grabs on to your attention and pulls you into a shared moment. Her work shows passion, pain, growth and does so without apology.

M. Bryan's art will be on display and available for purchase at Max Bloom's Art Gallery throughout the month of December.

Please RSVP and do not miss this opportunity to meet the artist and experience her work at a wonderful a new Fullerton gallery space.

BaxSpace embraces the pop-up gallery concept of re-purposing under-utilized or un-used spaces for a temporary art exhibit, helping to highlight potential in a property and bringing talented local artists to fresh eyes. When the community supports the experimentation and potential of creativity and hard work, we succeed in elevating the importance of art and artists in the community, bettering the quality of life for us all. “I want Fullerton to be known as community that embraces the arts,” Baxter says. “Fine art, music, theater, poetry—these are the things we should be known for.”

Max Bloom’s Café Noir and Art Gallery is owned by Kevin Carter and has been a Fullerton mainstay for open mic music and comedy for the past five years. “The art coming through this space is exciting for Max Bloom’s,” Carter said. “It will be one of the best venues locally to celebrate artists and exhibit their work. Visual Art, in all mediums and styles, to Max Bloom’s, is now part of the business plan, not an afterthought.”

"Life Unscripted: Inspired by True Events"

BaxSPACE at Max Blooms Art Gallery is proud to present the Fullerton Art Walk debut of Shan’Ta Monroe and her solo art exhibition “LIFE UNSCRIPTED: Inspired by True Events.”

Shan’Ta is a recent transplant from Washington, D.C., is a photographer, a painter, a sculptor and a poet.

Shan’Ta captures real time though her art. She shows us that life is constant, life is movement, life is expecting the unexpected and that’s the inspiration behind her work. She releases her emotions through the lens of her camera, the stroke of her brush, her use of contrast through her materials. Images are captured on film and manipulated though paint and other media. One photograph may complete another upon their meeting, as the art is alive with movement. Her work shows passion, pain, growth and does so without apology.

Shan'Ta Monroe's book of the same title will also be on display and for sale at Max Blooms during the month of May.

Please RSVP and do not miss this opportunity to meet the artist and experience her work at a wonderful a new Fullerton gallery space.
