About

OhMyLong! è un progetto basato sulla metodo di costruzione di tavole da longboard.
Il metodo è stato studiato e sviluppato per essere reso fruibile specialmente
all’interno dei Fablab.
I Fablab sono spazi attrezzati con macchinari per la digital fabbrication,

i quali vengono messi a disposizione degli associati. ( Fablab WIKIPEDIA )
La longboard viene fabbricata utilizzando macchinari a taglio laser,

grazie ai quali vengono tagliate le laminature di betulla ed le centine per creare la
pressa da molding, la quale a sua volta servirà per dare la curvatura al legno;
una volta pronti,i 3 strati di betulla vengono resinati insieme e alternati da
fibra di vetro o fibra vegetale e successivamente curvati utilizzando la tecnica del vuoto.
La digital fabbrication permette di personalizzare al 100% la tavola; forma,
incisione e curvatura sono totalmente customizzabili.
Inoltre è anche possibile personalizzare il grip antiscivolo!

Oh my long is a Project based on the construction method of the longboard table.
This method has been developed in order to be usable, especially in the FabLabs.
A fab lab (fabrication laboratory) is a small-scale workshop offering (personal) digital fabrication.
A fab lab is generally equipped with an array of flexible computer controlled
tools that cover several different length scales and various materials, with
the aim to make "almost anything".
This includes technology-enabled products generally perceived as limited to

The birch wood foils are cut thanks to the laser-cut machines, together with
the press that will help shape the wood.
Once the three birch layers are ready, they are stuck together with artificial
resin and fiberglass and later bent using the vacuum technique.
The digital fabrication makes the longboard 100% customised: shape, incisions
and the bending curve.
It is also possible to customise the anti-slip grip!
