Inspiration 1:"Steal Like An Artist"

"Steal like an Artist" is a book written by Austin Kleon. Kleon wrote this book to inspire and share "secrets" about trying to be more creative in life.  This book is filled with inspiring stories, quotes, and life lessons that can inspire anyone. I recommend it to any artist out there. "You have to be curious about the world in which you live. Look things up. Chase down every reference. Go deeper than anybody else - that's how you'll get ahead."  My top two inspirational artist of the time being are Banksy & Klimt. You can find the book along with others written by him at www.austinkleon.com and watch his video  talking about his book in the side bar!

Inspiration 2: Bansky & Gustav Klimt

Everyone has their different specialty, something that makes them, them. Mine is Art. Art is what makes me want to get up every morning, makes me want to stay up late, and what is always running through my mind. Making art is how I want to change the world, by making a piece that makes people think about a certain social or political issues, make them understand history, teach them something exhilarating, or even give them an epiphany that leads them to another ingenious ideas. This is the point of art to change the perspective of the viewer’s eye. Art helped me developed into the person I am today. I have used the inspiration of fine art artist, Gustav and street artist, Banksy to develop the thought of two different ways of changing the world. Gustav went against the norm of traditional art and changed other artists perceptive. Banksy is a street artist that makes political pieces expressing his views towards political and social issues. This makes the viewer have to think outside of the box about something he or she might not have thought of before. Due to these two artists I have branched into a new way of using my imagination and insubordinate way of thinking to make a difference in the world.

I'm Mia, a high school senior pursuing photography in and outside of the classroom. My goal is to make it to the big leagues in photography and make a name for myself. This is my website featuring my work. I was given the great advice from the book "Steal like an Artist" that when trying to find your creativity "do good work and share it", number 6 on his 10 things nobody told you about being creative.
