Lasni Nishshanke

Lasni is pursuing a Ph.D. in the Santollo laboratory. She joined the lab in January 2022 after graduating from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Outside of the lab, Lasni enjoys travel, hiking and camping.

Jessica Santollo, Ph.D., Principal Investigator

Dr. Santollo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Kentucky. She started this position in August 2016. When not in the lab, Dr. Santollo enjoys cycling, reading, exploring the local restaurant scene, and baking. If you join the lab, she might even make you an awesome sloth cake like the one shown here.

Ivanka Rainer

Ivanka was on of the original members of the Santollo lab, joining in 2017. Ivanka completed an Honors Capstone Project and graduated in 2020. She is currently a graduate student at UC.

Andrea Edwards

Andrea is the lab tech in the Santollo lab. She joined the lab in July 2018. When not in the lab, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family and her farm animals.

Lilly Swanz

Lilly was an undergraduate researcher in the lab. Lilly completed an Honors Capstone Project and graduate in 2023. She is currently a medical student at the University of Cincinnati.

Julia Howell

Julia earned her MS degree in Spring 2022. Julia is currently a research associate at Eli Lilly.

Madelyn Steineker

Madelyn is an undergraduate research assistant working on an Honors Capstone Project. Madelyn's plan is to attend medical school after graduation.
