ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS: 

 

The International Studies Department (ISD) of De La Salle University is an independent social science department committed to a multidisciplinary approach in the study of human interactions across national borders, inter-cultural relations, and the emerging global society. The ISD encourages the study of international relations, international organizations, inter-cultural interactions, area studies, and the process of globalization and its effect on the various national societies around the world. The department promotes awareness of international affairs, and inter-cultural understanding through research, instructional, and outreach activities. Graduates of the degree programs are expected to be knowledgeable in international affairs and competent in participating in various types of exchanges, agreements, and ventures between governments, cultural and business organizations, and academic institutions.

The Japan Foundation, Manila, is the 18th Overseas Office to be established and was inaugurated in June 1996. Its main objective is to deepen the global understanding of Japan and enhance mutual cooperation through the promotion of various cultural activies like lectures, film festivals, exhibitions and performances. The JFM annually administers the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in cooperation with other Japanese Language Education institutions.
