What Makes a Good Portrait?

A portrait photo can be made good many different ways. Composure is one of the most important things required for a good portrait photo. Different lighting techniques can be used to enhance the photo by setting a mood or highlighting key features of the subject. The other part of composure is the appropriate f stop (aperture) the lower the aperture the shallower depth of field. This can benefit or disadvantage your photo, by putting many things out of focus when taking pictures of a face, so use carefully and to your own liking. The last thing you need for a good portrait is an awesome subject, someone or something that tells a story, displays emotion and is interesting to look at. The more interesting the portrait the better the photo it is.

The reason i used jack for my portraits is because his personality is huge, this makes jack quite the interesting guy. His guitar made the photos unique, by showing jacks hobby and dedication. In contrast his face only shots he was able to deliver his classic jack way of being a laid back yet goofy guy.
