2005 - 2011
Miyashita Maika originally debuted as an Idol under the agency Stardust Promotions with the group Power Age as one of the original four members, regularly performing live concerts until the group was eventually dissolved in 2009. Even after the groups disbandment, Maika stayed under Stardust and eventually released a solo single in 2011. In November that same year however, Maika halted her activities in the Entertainment industry in order to pursue a normal life, thus cancelling her contract and any events she had planned with Stardust.
2014
On May 14th 2014, it was announced that Maika was the newest addition to Houkago Princess as a 6th generation member alongside Michishige Saho. On the same day, she opened up an official Twitter account confirming her return to the Entertainment industry as a member of the indies Idol group.
On July 13th of the same year, just two months after joining Houkago Princess, Maika was promoted to the Regular lineup.

- Maika has the longest Idol career of all the Houkago Princess members, having been a part of the industry for almost 7 years.
- During her time in Power Age, she was a member alongside AKB48's Ichikawa Miori and Momoiro Clover Z's Ariyasu Momoka before
they were a part of their respective groups.
- The other members have noted how talented and professional Maika is when she originally debuted, noting her sharp dancing and great singing voice.
- Maika was a part of Fuji TV's Idol Karaoke contest, of which she was a finalist alongside C-ute's Okai Chisato. She did not win, however.
