In 2010 NAOKI, a costume designer for pro-wrestlers, started on a project where he would manage, design and create costumes for an Idol group under GET-CRAZY. Around March of 2010, the group Houkago Princess was created, and the members underwent lessons in dance and singing to prepare for their debut.

In May 2011, Hagi Yurika, an original first generation member, withdrew from the group due to poor physical health. The group, which had originally been a line-up of eight members, became a seven member unit. A month later in June of the same year, the new group was introduced to the public with the announcement that they would make their CD Debut in August of the same year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

From their debut announcement, it was revealed that Houkago Princess were going to use the concept of being a 'dress-up' Idol group, where the fans were able to choose the outfits that the members would wear during their theatre performances at Ikebukuro WHITE BASE.

 

On August 3rd 2011 Houkago Princess released their debut single, Houkago Princess ~Oshiete Kudasai~. There was only one edition available of the single, and as of 2012, it has become unavailable for purchase and is out of print.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In November, Houkago Princess Introduced Nagafuji Aoi and Kobayashi Rena as the second generation of Houkago Princess. Starting out as Candidates, both Aoi and Rena were promoted to Regular members in December of the same year,

 

On December 10th 2011, Yamaguchi Mai graduated from Houkago Princess in order to pursue other things in life. Her graduation was the first to happen after the groups debut. Houkago Princess then went on as an eight member group for the rest of the year.

 

On December 24th 2011, Houkago Princess released two venue exclusive singles, Juliet -Kimi wo Suki na 100 no Riyuu- and Uchuu Ichii no Christmas.

2012

In January of 2012, it was announced that Houkago Princess would release their second single, Juliet -Kimi wo Suki na 100 no Riyuu- which had originally only been available at the groups venue, Ikebukuro WHITE BASE. The single was released publicly on February 29th in two versions; Type A and Type B. Each version featured the title track and a coupling song titled Daisuki, as well as a third track that was different depending on the version purchased.

 Juliet -Kimi wo Suki na 100 no Riyuu- was the only single by Houkago Princess to be released publicly in 2012, and as of late 2012, it is no longer available for purchase and production of the single has ceased.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On May 6th, it was revealed that 1st generation members Yumeka, Kishitani Yuuki and Miyashita Mayuka would all graduate from the group. Yumeka cited her reasons behind the decision were to do with her health problems, whilst Mayuka revealed that she wished to pursue a career in modelling. Yuuki's own reasons behind graduation were vague, however later went on to form and lead the idol group DREAM FACTORY that same year, as well as release a Gravure DVD in 2013.

 It was also announced that Odagiri Nana would graduate along with the other members, however on May 20th, she withdrew her Graduation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On June 2nd 2012, Houkago Princess introduced the newest members to the group, as well as a new system that the girls would work under; The 3rd generation Cadets, consisting of Sakuragi Nene, Yamaguchi Miran, Ayase Miho, Shiraishi Rika, Shiroboshi Chiaki, Momose Fuuka and Asakura Megumi. As Cadets, they would perform and promote alongside the Regular members of Houkago Princess before being promoted to the same positions as the other members.

 

In July, Sakuragi Nene was the first 3rd generation Cadet to be promoted to the position of Regular member.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On August 17th, Chiba Sakino announced through her blog that she would graduate from Houkago Princess that September. However, after much debate and after listening to her fans and the other members, Sakino withdrew her announcement in order to give herself time to think over her decision.

 

The group went on to release their third single in October, Kojiki Shika!, which was a limited release to venues.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On October 13th 2012, Shiroboshi Chiaki was officially and immediately Dismissed from Houkago Princess after it had been found out that she was contacting fans personally.

 

On December 2nd 2012, Houkago Princess released their fourth 4th single, Houso-bu Please. On the same day, Kizuki Saori and Matsumoto Ria were announced as the new Houkago Princess 4th generation Cadets.

 

In the same month on the 21st, the group re-released their Christmas song Uchuu Ichii no Christmas 2012-2013 ver. as a free gift for fans who attended the performance that day.

2013

On January 6th, Hayamizu Rin, Aiuchi Kohana and Yamakawa Risa join Houkago Princess, completing the 4th generation Cadets.

 

On March 15th, 3rd generation Cadets Shiraishi Rika and Yamaguchi Miran, as well as 4th generation Cadet Kizuki Saori, were all promoted to Regular members of Houkago Princess. Around the same time as the promotions of the Cadet members, Kobayashi Rena was Dismissed from the group.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Miyashita Mayuka returns to Houkago Princess in March, starting as a 2.5 generation Cadet on her return. Like the other Cadets, she will work alongside the Regular members by performing and attending promotional events.

 

On April 6th, 4th generation Cadet Matsumoto Nashiai has been Dismissed, and following on April 22nd, 3rd generation Cadet Asakura Megumi is also Dismissed for breaking the rules.

 

On May 5th, Suzukawa Kanari has been revealed as a new member via the Houkago Princess Cadet blog, however due to difficulty in travelling from Aichi to Ikebukuro, she could not participate in most activities or performances, and so withdrew from the group.

 

On May 15th, Houkago Princess release their fifth single, Juliet ~Kimi wo Suki na 100 no Riyuu~ (2013 version) as a public release. The song comes in four version, and contains re-recorded songs from previous single releases. This is also the first public release from the group in over a year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On June 2nd, Momose Fuuka withdraws from Houkago Princess at her own request. Then, on June 30th, Nagafuji Aoi graduates from Houkago Princess in order to focus on her studies.

 

On July 5th, Chiba Sakino announces her Graduation a second time, and graduates from the group on July 21st in order to focus on a career in fashion. On July 18th, three days before Sakino's graduation, 3rd generation Cadet member Aiuchi Kohana announces that she will be withdrawing from Houkago Princess on July 21st in order to focus on her family's current circumstances.

On the same day, Ayase Miho is promoted to Regular member status in Houkago Princess, and Sakurai Riho is introduced as a new 5th generation Cadet member. She is the final 3rd generation member to be fully promoted.

 

At the same performance, Fukuhara Kyoka and Nagasawa Marina are introduced as Apprentice members of Houkago Princess.

 

On July 27th and 28th, Houkago Princess attend Tokyo Idol Festival 2013 for the first time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On July 28th, Sakuragi Nene announces that she is going on Hiatus from Houkago Princess in order to focus on University. For now, there is an undecided return time.

 

Houkago Princess collaborate with Guitar☆Man GPK and various other artists for a cover-album, King of Pops 2. The album was released on August 7th.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On September 10th, it is announced that Noda Hitomi has been Dismissed from Houkago Princess for personally contacting and dating a fan. The fan has been banned from all future performances of Houkago Princess, and Noda Hitomi issues an apology on her blog. Staff announce that they will strengthen checks and monitor messages and interaction between the members of Houkago Princess and the fans after the incident.

 

On September 28th, Chiba Sakino and Noda Hitomi announce that they would be a part of a new group called READY TO KISS. The group would be made up of five former Houkago Princess members including Sakino, Hitomi, Suzukawa Kanari, Nagafuji Aoi and Kobayashi Rena, as well as a new member who had never debuted in a group before, Ichinose Anju. The group is managed by Get-Crazy.

 

On October 5th, Odagiri Nana releases her first solo Calendar for 2014.

 

On October 11th, it was announced through Twitter that Suzukawa Kana had decided to stop her activity within READY TO KISS.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On October 13th, Hayamizu Rina, Yamakawa Risa and Miyashite Mayuka are all promoted to Regular members, and Fukuhara Kyoka and Nagasawa Marina are both promoted to Gen 5 Cadets alongside Sakurai Riho.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the same day, it is revealed that Michishige Saho is the new 6th generation Cadet in Houkago Princess. It is also revealed that she is Michishige Sayumi's, of Morning Musume, second-cousin.

 

On October 19th, Houkago Princess release their 2014 Calender.

 

On October 20th, READY TO KISS held their performance debut.

 

On October 20th, Shiraishi Rika announces that she will go on hiatus from Houkago Princess in order to study for up-coming exams. It is undetermined how long she will be on Hiatus, or if she will return to Houkago Princess at all.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On November 27th, Houkago Princess release their 6th single Samu wa Fuyui! to the general public. Odagiri Nana also releases her first gravure DVD on the same day.

 

On December 7th, Shiraishi Rika announces that she will be graduating from Houkago Princess in order to focus on studying and getting into University. Her last performances take place on December 14th and December 15th.

 

On December 15th, Sakurai Riho revealed that she would be suspending her performing activities as she would be travelling to Vienna, Austria on December 19th until early January in order to study Classical Piano.On December 22nd, Fukuhara

 

On December 26th, Yamakawa Risa announced that she would be suspending her performances with Houkago Princess until January in order to treat her injured foot.

On January 10th, Houkago Princess Staff announced that Yamakawa Risa had been Dismissed from the group for violating the contract. Her official Dismissal was on January 8th, with the reason for her dismissal being that she had been contacting and meeting up with a fan.

 

It was made known that she had been seen walking with the fan in December, a day after she had suspended performing with Houkago Princess in order to treat her foot.

 

On January 12th, Michishige Saho was promoted from Apprentice to 6th generation Cadet member, joining Sakurai Riho, Nagasawa Marina and Fukuhara Kyoka as a Cadet.

 

On January 27th, it was revealed that Sakurai Riho had been Dismissed from Houkago Princess due to violation of her contract. It had been discovered that she had a boyfriend through a private Twitter account under the name Hiruma Riho, alleged to be her real name. Both her blog and Twitter account were terminated.

 

At the start of February, Houkago Princess began holding auditions for new 6th generation Apprentice members.

 

On February 2nd, Kawamura Shiori joined Houkago Princess as a 6th generation Apprentice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On February 9th, it was announced that both Nagafuji Aoi and Kobayashi Rena of READY TO KISS would leave the group due to family circumstances. On February 15th, Kawamura Shiori withdrew from Houkago Princess for personal reasons.

 

On February 16th, 5th generation Cadet member Fukuhara Kyoka announced that she would be leaving Houkago Princess. She explained that her reason for her sudden withdrawal was due to family circumstances, and that ever since postponing her time in Houkago Princess back in December 2013 due to these circumstances she had decided to withdraw from the group after thinking about it for a while. She would graduate from Houkago Princess on February 27th, at Shibuya TSUTAYA O-East.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

From March 24th, Sakuragi Nene resumed her activities within Houkago Princess after finishing her University exams. Earlier in the month, Nene confirmed that she would be working alongside fellow HouPri member Hayamizu Rin in a periodic stage play titled Hana yo... Cho yo... which would run from April 13th until the 19th of the same month.

 

Shiraishi Rika returned to the Entertainment Industry briefly by audition for Arc Jewel, who held auditions for a third Doll group. The audition held a voting process where fans would vote for their favourite girls who auditioned. Shiraishi Rika did not make it into the group.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On April 18th it was suddenly announced that Hayamizu Rin would suspend her activities from Houkago Princess immediately due to her poor health.

 

On April 27th Houkago Princess announced their first Live DVD titled Houkago Princess LIVE@Shibuya O-EAST ~Seito Kaicho. Odagiri Nana seitan oneman 2014~.

 

On May 14th during their live performance at Shibuya Duo, Houkago Princess revealed their newest 6th generation Apprentice member, Miyashita Maika, who would start her activities sporting only her first name, Maika. Within a week, Maika was promoted to Cadet status.

 

On June 21st, Sirosaki Himari was introduced as the newest 6th generation Cadet member of Houkago Princess.

On June 24th it was announced that the character Amemiya Mayuka, a character for the game Koe
Kara, had been created in the image of Miyashita Mayuka and that she would also provide the characters voice.

 

 

 

2014

On July 13th it was announced that Maika had successfully been promoted to Full Member status within Houkago Princess, marking her tenure as an Apprentice at only one month.

On July 21st, it was revealed that Nagasawa Marina had been suspended from Houkago Princess due to breaking the rules of her contract. Despite this however, Marina revealed through her blog that one day she hoped to audition for the group again in order to start a clean slate.

From late July until August, Maika participated in the Idol Karaoke Contest hosted by FujiTV, competing against various Idols from groups such as Idoling!!!, C-ute, ManaMinoRisa and many others. Through fan votes, Maika made it into the Finals which would be held in early September.

During August, Hayamizu Rin participated in the stage musical Flying Pirates ~Neverland Hyoryuki~.







On September 4th, FujiTV broadcasted the Idol Karaoke contest throughout Japan. Representing Houkago Princess, Maika did not win the contest however did place 3rd.

On September 23rd Houkago Princess released their 7th single, Manatsu no Yoru no Yume, which debuted on the Official Oricon charts at #3. Overall the single ranked 7th on the Oricon charts, marking it as the groups highest rank on the charts since Juliet ~Kimi wo Suki na 100 no Riyuu~ (2013 ver.), which debuted at #1 on the Indies Oricon chart. This was the groups first single to be produced with 8 different types.

It was revealed that on September 28th, Hayamizu Rin had joined a new Idol group called Yellow Candle.




















On November 15th, it was announced that Sirosaki Himari had been promoted to Cadet status in the group. On November 27th, both Maika and Himari opened up their official Ameblo blogs.

Around November 20th it was announced through various blog posts that Houkago Princess would release a live DVD tentatively titled LIVE! LIVE! LIVE! that would celebrate their three years as a group. The release date is January 23rd, 2015.

On November 29th, it was announced that Kizuki Saori would be collaborating with fashion brand DOWBL alongside Idol College's Ishizuka Shio where they would participate in Web Collaborations as well as attend live events for the brand. This would be Saori's first time modelling and supporting a brand as the face of Houkago Princess.

 

 

 

 

 

 

On December 21st, it was revealed that former Houkago Princess 3rd generation member, Shiraishi Rika, had formed a new unit named SAY-LA! The group are under Get-Crazy, and is made up of Rika, Yamamoto Niina and Morikawa Yui. The group made their stage debut on the same day they were announced as a new unit.

On December 26th, the groups up-coming DVD had been re-titled HouPriLIVE Lesson 1 ~Live-Lived-Lived~.

 

On December 28th, it was revealed that the group had recorded a new version of their music video 'Kojiki Shika!', which would feature Yamaguchi Miran as the center. On the same day, Maika attended the SOLO x SOLO x SOLO event at Shibuya Glad, where various Idols, including ex-Juice=Juice member Otsuka Aina, performed solo songs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On January 12th, Yamaguchi Miran attended the annual Coming of Age ceremony, as she would turn 20 in March, and is considered an Adult at that age.

 

On January 23rd 2015, Houkago Princess released their long-awaited Live DVD, HoupriLIVE ~Live-Lived-Lived~. The DVD debuted at #7 on the Oricon charts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On February 1st, it was announced that Sakuragi Nene would graduate from Houkago Princess. The reason behind her graduation was due to the fact that, as a Regular member of Houkago Princess, Nene could not meet the required standards in terms of performance. Originally, it had been intended to demote her to the status of a Cadet, however through Nene and the Staff's disagreement, she decided to instead leave the group. Her final Live would be on February 11th, 2015. This would be the groups first graduation in around 7 months.
