Spring 2013:  Industrial  Design

For the final project in the Industrial Design course, the task was to examine a daily ritual and invent something that would improve it.  I chose reading in bed.  No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't find a comfortable position, and as a result I was unable to relax.  The goal, then, was to hold the book comfortably with an object that seemed as if it fit in a bedtime environment.  The result, shown below, is a book holder that uses a soft counter weight to keep the book in either position that the reader requires.
