Yolanda Anderson recieved the Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry/Pre-Pharmacy from Xavier University of Louisiana. She performed additional study in Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics at Xavier University School of Pharmacy. Ms. Anderson was imbued with a fiery passion for education while teaching chemistry at the University of New Orleans Summer Science program that she pursued and completed the Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in Chemistry Education.  She has been an educator in New Orleans Public Schools and Jackson Public Schools (Jackson, MS).  She has taught such subjects as General Chemistry, Accelerated Chemistry, Advanced Placement Chemistry, Physics and SOAR (High School Advanced Science Research Course). Within the public school sector, Anderson has served in a number of administrative positions from science department chair to committee leader for academic student retention.  She has been called upon to present research and creative teaching strategies/activities at local and regional science educator conferences.  Yolanda began ground breaking research in the area of NanoChemistry in conjunction with Jackson State University Department of Chemistry alongside Dr. H. Yu while taking doctoral courses in Chemistry.  Anderson is sought after as a textbook reviewer for such publishers as Pearson, Houghton and Mifflin and Prentice-Hall.  A dedicated mother of two sons, BJ and Reese, Yolanda balances the tough juggling of professional life with personal life by spending the "best hours of my day with my loves, my boys!".
