Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) that prevents the formation of blood clots in the body. Patients who are suffering from heart strokes and pulmonary embolism are often prescribed Xarelto by physicians to prevent and eliminate blood clotting in veins and other parts of the body.

Adverse side effects


Although the blood clots are removed, some negative xarelto side effects are observed in many patients who consume Xarelto medicine. Internal bleeding is the most serious adverse side effect caused by this drug. Some times it may lead to death occurrences. At present, there is no known cure to reverse the type of internal bleeding caused by Xarelto. The bleeding may affect the internal vital organs such as brain, lungs and kidney and may cause adverse negative effects to the patients. The organs may lose its normal functionality due to the accumulation of bleeding.

 

Reduced hemoglobin level is a serious threat caused by this drug. The patients who undergone surgeries such as hip or knee replacement would be affected by this serious threat of decreased hemoglobin due to excess bleeding. Bleeding in the brain is another problem which leads to the formation of hematoma which is a serious neurology problem faced by many patients. Old aged people who take this medicine may get affected by peripheral edema that is swelling of the lower limbs. So the aged people are not advised to take this drug without the concerned doctor’s advice and supervision.

Dyspnea a condition of breathing difficulty observed in some people who consume this drug for a prolonged period. People who require Xarelto should consult the physician and start the drug in advisable dosages and time period. The patients who consume Xarelto should inform the doctor especially before having any medical procedures or surgeries. Patients who have uncontrolled high blood pressure should follow the precaution measures which are relevant with Xarelto drug.
