ABOUT
I care about the intersection of art and people. I make art to tell a story, make someone smile, deepen a connection or to mark important events. I embrace sentimental value and I strive for my art to be accessible to everyone. I value working alongside others to produce something together.
I grew up in central Massachusetts, where my parents encouraged me to draw from an early age. I received a Bachelor of Fine Art from Pratt Institute and a Master of Art in Community Art from Maryland Institute College of Art. I have been an events and gallery coordinator at a university, an instructor in an after school program, an AmeriCorps member at a community garden, a floater at a furniture factory, and have recently made the leap to become a working artist.
My interests fall into a few categories that often overlap and intertwine in my art:
Community work
Printmaking, letterpress and multiples
Drawing and portraiture
Storytelling, memory and oral history
Gift-giving and sentimentality
Participatory exhibition and hands-on events
Please check out my recent and in-progress projects to see how these categories fit together.
I'd love to hear from you.
