When shorts and T shirts are the required couture then you know that wherever you are in the Lakes it will be like nowhere else in the World.  Today was wonderful.  A gentle breeze and lovely warm sunshine,  eight of us left the bus at Brockhole (so handy for ladies ablutions) and made our way up the gentle track past Middlerigg Tarn,  through Troutbeck and onto hills with names like Sallows and Cappie Howe and Sour Howes that no one had ever heard of and immediately forgot after Neil had pointed them out.  Poor Ben,  with his last rather chilly, sub-zero outing in mind wore a heavy great coat with his pockets stuffed full and no ruck sack to put it all in.  He was sufficient of a gentleman to carry Lisa’s sack when she hurt her knee.  No great drama in the walking,  but some great tales and chat and a pleasant pint or cup of tea in Windermere,  depending on personal preferences.  It is Lisa’s last walk before she returns to Germany and we all wish her the very best for the future,  and hope she visits us again.  Thanks Neil for planning and leading an excellent walk.
