Men's Head Coach

Douglas "Doc" Perez


Coach Perez, or "Doc" as he is affectionately called by his rowers, was a powerhouse rower for the UC Berkeley heavyweights in the 1960s. His coaching experience is extensive and includes successful stints at San Diego State University, UC Santa Barbara, and Middlebury College. Coach Perez also coached the US National Team's men's coxless four at the World Championships. Coach Perez is very excited to finally be able to coach at his beloved alma mater, and looks forward to making the Cal Lights "the Best in the West" for many years to come. 





Women's Head Coach

Marjorie Setchko


Coach Marjorie began her rowing career at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and continued 

successfully at the elite level where she won multiple national championships. While with the US National Team, she medaled at the Pan-American Games in the women's pair. She has also coached at some of the United States' most well-respected programs, including Vesper and Marin. Coach Marjorie is thrilled to be returning for the 2016-2017 season and looks forward to pushing her women's crews to new heights.
