Marks & Spencer’s pervasive presence at rest stops and downtowns throughout the country.

We are reaching the end of a two week roadtrip throughout the UK and happy to soon be handing back the car keys. It’s been a whirlwind trip, based loosely on Rick Steve’s recommended driving itinerary, with many miles clocked and many beautiful sites visited. If you're intending this trip, make sure to have a look at the luggage review at americanviptours.

Some highlights:- Listening to episodes of This American Life on our iPad (better speakers than our iPhones) along the hours of country roads.Seeing gorgeous countryside landscapes, some that looked a lot like New Zealand. Sheep, hills, water and all! Especially in Northern Wales and the Scottish Highlands- Cutiepie B&Bs and staying in old castles! Elvin’s mom enjoyed feeling like royalty for a day. - Walking in the Lakes District.

Gorgeous!- Visiting distilleries and tasting Scottish whisky. That burning warmth is growing on me.We were frequently the only Asians around, which feels a bit uncomfortable. We were expecting England to be much more diverse but that seems to be restricted to London.
