STRUCTURAL PROJECT for a residential building in milan
Professor: Marco Andrea Pisani
A.Y. 2012/2013
BASIS OF DESIGN
Structural safety criteria. (The semi-probabilistic limit state method).
REINFORCED-CONCRETE (R/C) STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS
Fundamental assumptions of R/C: reinforcement, bond and calculation hypothesis. Design of R/C columns for centric axial loads under Serviceability Limit State (SLS) and Ultimate Limit State (ULS).
Behavior of R/C elements in bending: analysis and design for SLS (uncracked and cracker) and ULS. Minimum reinforcement and combined flexure.
Behavior of R/C elements in shear: Ritter-Mörsch truss model. Comb model: elements without transverse reinforcement. Other contributions. Minimum shear reinforcement. Variable angle truss model. Arch mechanism and beam models. Strut and tie equilibrate schemes. Behavior of R/C elements under combined axial loads and bending moment: SLS and ULS.
Strength checks for columns under combined axial loads and bending moment. Buckling of columns under combined axial loads and bending moments.
