Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and the digestive system of about 30,000 children in the United States, 70,000 worldwide. A defective genes causes the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lung, and leads to lung infections, stop enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. in 1950 children with cystic fibrosis had trouble living until elementary school. Today they can live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.

Since 1967 Delta Phi Epsilon as a whole has contributed more than $1 million towards research for Cystic Fibrosis. To help raise money for the CFF the Phi Psi chapter holds Deepher Dude, our annual male beauty pageant, in which all of the proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This year we are proud to have Angelo Virone, a brother of Alpha Sigma Phi, as our Deepher dude! We also raise money for CFF through car washes and other smaller events throughout the year.

ANAD (Anorexia Nervosa &  Associated

Disorders)

Since 1976 the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, Inc. has been dedicated to the prevention and awareness of eating disorders. Delta Phi Epsilon is the only Panhellenic Sorority that supports an organization that's sole purpose it to alleviate eating disorders. The ANAD candle light vigil had been selected as Delta Phi Epsilon's International Service Event in order to raise awareness of the dangers of the disorder.

The Phi Psi Chapter plans to participate in the Eating Disorder Awareness Week (in the end of February) this year with a trash your insecurities trash can where students can "throw away" what makes them feel insecure. Also, this year we put on our 2nd annual ANAD benefit concert with local bands and artists to raise money for ANAD.
