In A Haunted House 2, Jaime Pressly plays Megan, the lighter side of an interracial couple with more than the usual problems. A mother of two, she and her kids move in with Malcolm (Marlon Wayans), but little does she know his possessed ex, Kisha (Essence Atkins), is living next door.

Pressly is no stranger to the horror genre (her first starring role was in the straight to video sequel to Poison Ivy, back in 1997), but she’s mostly known for comedy (the actress won two Emmys for her performance as Joy in "My Name Is Earl") – so what could be more perfect than mixing the two for A Haunted House 2?

Jaime Pressly: Well, I mean they basically approached me with it, to see if I wanted to do it and I read it, met with the producers, and director. And of course Marlon. Marlon and I have known each other for fifteen years, so this was a great opportunity to finally work together. And you know, that was that. Shoots in L.A., so I didn’t have to take my son out of school. I was all for it.

JP: I think just in general because they were really good at, Marlon and Rick who wrote it were really good about touching on every single horror film that was made. So I mean, it kind of spans every generation because you can look back at The Exorcist and then you can look at the ones like The Conjuring. Like… we completely rebuilt the set of The Conjuring. So we have the identical set to that for one part of it. Anyway, I think the greatest part is though we spoof all the horror films and it’s a comedy we still scare the crap out of people.

Everybody gets scared and then you turn around and ten seconds later they are laughing because they realize, ‘Oh My God they just scared me with something that I have seen a million times in films’ and now you’re laughing because we pointed out what you were just afraid of. You know what I mean. It’s the stereotypical thing that scares you all the time for some reason and we point it out. And to the fact that it’s all the stereotypes we make fun of in general with race and what ever else. It’s pretty funny.

JP: You know, the person that interacts with her the most is Marlon. But we did have her in our room. You know, it’s again… my character is oblivious. My character didn’t realize that she was turning her head or watching us during our sex scene. My character had no idea until way after the fact that she (the doll) knew what was going on. So its mainly Marlon who interacts with her.

The sequel to A Haunted House catches back up with Malcolm (Wayans), who is trying to get a fresh start after having to exorcise demons out of his ex. However, moving into a beautiful home with his new girlfriend and her two children does nothing to stop the paranormal
