Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 2

The preview and stills from Game of Thrones season 4, episode 2 indicate that joy will soon be mixed with grim tidings.Game of Thrones season 4, episode 2 will air this Sunday on HBO, and it looks like Joffrey and Margaery will finally be having their day in the sun. The episode, titled “The Lion and the Rose,” appears to focus on the long-awaited royal wedding, which will finally bind the Houses of Lannister and Tyrell with a marriage alliance.

But as this is Game of Thrones, we won’t just be witnessing a wedding this week. The preview for “The Lion and the Rose” makes it clear that the darker side of life is weighing heavily on many characters’ minds. The official synopsis for “The Lion and the Rose” coyly suggests family bonding alongside the feuds – and teases the return of Roose Bolton’s utterly-crazypants bastard, Ramsay Snow.

The upcoming Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 2 (Episode 32) titled “The Lion and the Rose” debuts on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 9 p.m. on HBO.According to the official HBO statement, King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) and Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) will host a breakfast. The preview of the episode reveals that the two wed shortly after.

Referred to by fans as the “Purple Wedding,” the marriage will be short lived as, according to the book the story is based upon, Joffrey gets poisoned soon after. But it remains unclear whether the actual episode will stick closely to the plot of the book.

In the novels by George R.R. Martin “A Song of Ice and Fire,” which the series is based on, Cersei (Lena Headey) will try to persuade Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) to kill Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) thinking that Tyrion killed Joffrey, reported the International Business Times.

Jaime, however, wants to learn more about the situation, and Tyrion will lend Jaime a hand in a matter. Back at Dragonstone, Stannis (Stephen Dillane) will lose patience with Davos (Liam Cunningham) and Ramsay (Iwan Rheon) will find a purpose for his pet. North of the Wall, Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) sees where they must go.

The show can also be viewed on HBO2 on April 14 (9:00 p.m.), 18 (3:30 a.m.), and 20 (4:45 p.m., 8:00 p.m.).
Tyrion lends Jaime a hand. Joffrey and Margaery host a breakfast. At Dragonstone, Stannis loses patience with Davos. Ramsay finds a purpose for his pet. North of the Wall, Bran sees where they must go. For starters, not everyone is overwhelmed with joy at seeing Joffrey and Margaery at the height of their happiness. Tyrion and Sansa both seem rather sour at the prospect, and clearly the ever-present tensions within the Lannister family are not going to be eased any time soon.

The preview for Game of Thrones season 4, episode 2 also offers our first glimpse at Bran Stark for the season, struggling to press forward in the lands beyond the Wall. Melisandre also makes her first appearance, engaged in her usual activities of burning stuff and talking about hell. The still photos from “The Lion and the Rose” tease the lavishness of Joffrey and Margaery’s wedding, and also give us a look at other characters returning in the new season.
