ABOUT
4ArTS is an international gathering of forty to sixty arts therapies students - art therapy, dance movement psychotherapy, music therapy, drama therapy - for an intensive four-day conference. The conference offers a well-balanced mixture of lectures given by established professionals and experiential workshops run by students. As arts therapies students, because we work with individuals, on an one-to-one basis or in groups, we strongly believe in the value of sharing our experiences and engaging in constructive debate about the educational and therapeutic significance of these experiences. It was this belief that lead to the creation of 4ArTS.
Objectives
The main topics of discussion evolved around the diverse application of arts therapies around the world, job prospects, the dual role/nature of the arts therapist (therapist and artist) and the interplay of theoretical framework and creative work when with a client. This sharing of ideas, hopes, fears and wishes left the participants wanting more and thus the idea of an international student arts therapies conference.

The encounter offers
- opportunity to attend lectures of well established professionals in the field of Arts Therapies in one chosen field of study and in the other creative therapies;
- opportunity for students to run a workshop for their peers, in a supportive environment, which will not only improve their confidence and experience in their field, but also enable them to discuss and explore their practice in a constructive environment;
opportunity to explore, compare and contrast international arts therapies approaches and practices from around the world;
opportunity to explore arts therapies in Italy;
opportunity to Find a Partner for European Project;
opportunity to find parters to create a European project together.
