About the Artist

Andrew studied Fine Art at Michaelis School of Fine Art from 1980 -1984 and then worked as Foundation Year lecturer at Ruth Prowse Art Centre in Salt River Cape Town from 1985 to 1991.

 

He was a finalist in Daan Retief Book Illustration Competition 1986 and went on to work on children’s book illustrations for Haum Daan Retief and Maskew Miller.

 

From 1990 till 2014 he ran his own successful art school, Andrew Owen School of Art in Somerset West.
