The Face on the Barroom Floor is “an astonishing theatrical event illustrating in words and action the evil of greed and the triumph of true love. Featuring: Madness, treachery and all new scenery.” We first meet our cast of characters one snowy night around 1900 in Central City, Colorado at the Old Teller House. In from the cold stumbles a dirty bum who claims to be Jack Goodhart, a once semi-successful painter and the former fiancée of one of the Teller House’s ex-employees.

We see this tale of treachery, trickery and misdirection unfold until we are brought back to the present day in a stirring finale. You will come to love or hate this cast of characters, featuring a couple of dim-witted miners, a cynical stage-coach driver, a sweet naïve songstress, a pillar of Denver society, a judge who never indulges, and the dastardly theatrical producer whose dishonest ways have ruined the lives of so many.

Inspired by H. Antoine D’Arcy’s famous poem, this spoof on old Western slapstick melodramas will leave you laughing and cringing from the opening pun to the closing knock-down drag-out Battle Royale where Jack tries to restore order to his shattered life.
